SUMMARY:Spiritual First Aid (In-Person Training)
DESCRIPTION:Trauma is all around us\, but it can be difficult to know how to help those who’ve been through traumatic experiences. That’s why the Bounce Coalition is hosting a free in-person training for Spiritual First Aid. Designed for faith and community groups\, this training provides practical\, trauma-informed tools for responding to mental and emotional struggles using the BLESS CPR helping framework. Participants will receive hands-on training\, a workbook\, and a field guide to better support children\, adolescents\, and adults in their communities. This training is free thanks to the generosity of the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission. \nPlease note this will be an in-person training in Louisville\, Kentucky. DESCRIPTION:Jul 18th& 25th 10am-3pm\nTo support more organizations in becoming trauma-informed and to sustain practices that help their clients and employees to thrive\, the Bounce Coalition has developed Bounce University\, a two-day “train the trainer” program that enables participants to teach the Bounce curriculum. \n\nParticipants learn to present Bounce’s evidence-based\, interactive learning modules\, foundational to building trauma-informed individuals\, systems\, and communities. \nUpon completion of Bounce University training\, participants are asked to demonstrate the acquisition of the knowledge and skills required to become a Certified Bounce Trainer by:  \n\nCompleting an objective assessment that measures understanding of the key learning objectives (with immediate feedback on performance); and \nPresenting portions of the Bounce content to the training team and classmates in a simulated training environment to ensure content is delivered with a high degree of fidelity and competence.\n\nTrainers will gain knowledge in the following competencies:   \n\nThe seminal Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study and research on child adversity and resilience\nHow ACEs impact brain development\nThe signs of trauma and impact on lifelong health\nHow trauma-informed and resilience-building practices help heal ACEs\nThe importance of self-care\nResilient behaviors to help people thrive and barriers to building resilience\nPractical actions to build a culture of resilience \n\nIndividuals who become Certified Bounce Trainers become eligible to provide trainings and received compensation.
