From Insight to Impact: Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences and Substance Use with Miriam Sillman and Tiffany Quarles from the Department for Behavioral Health.
This May, we hosted our tenth virtual Spring Bounce Grand Rounds. An insightful and interactive forum designed to explore the profound impact of positive childhood experiences (PCEs) on lifelong success and well-being. This bi-annual workshop is crafted for educators, parents, policymakers, and professionals committed to fostering environments that nurture and support youth development.
This spring, the discussion explored the powerful connection that youth and supportive adults can use to mitigate substance use among youth. Our presenters highlighted how supportive relationships, safe environments, and community engagement can buffer the effects of trauma and reduce the risk of substance use among youth. Participants explored practical strategies and evidence-based approaches to foster resilience and promote healthy development in young people.
We appreciate the cross-sector and cross-state collaboration that was able to take place due to your participation! The recording can be viewed on the Bounce Coalition’s YouTube page and on our website on the Bounce resources page.
Thank our sponsor, Aetna Better Health of Kentucky! Sponsors allow us to keep Bounce Ground Rounds events, which take place twice a year and build skills in professionals and connections among community members who care about the future of kids and their families, free and inclusive.
